It is around 12:00 pm and I leave
home in Kampala to head for Entebbe. I have been traveling to Entebbe but my
focus this point was Uganda wildlife Education Centre formerly known as Entebbe
zoo and as most people call it. Some feel comfortable calling it ‘UWEC’
By the way, this is my first time
at UWEC, the last time I was there, I happened to be part of the celebrants on
Zakayo’s birthday when he was making 44 years. Well, it happened accidentally
that I was there that day 15/08/2008, but I had no option but to eat that big
great cake with Zakayo and his family. Well in case you do not know who Zakayo is, he is the oldest
Chimp at the centre.
UWEC is an education centre that
is dedicated to conserving the endangered species of animals and trust me, the
animals there need food to eat. If you are there and are passionate about the
life of animals, get down there and contribute to the move of conservation
through your entrance fees and the donations. The entrance fees are pocket
friendly and affordable to every wildlife enthusiast .

Your great day will take you to
meet animals and participate in different activities like feeding animals. Have fun at the
beach and feel the breeze of Lake Victoria.
Well I did not sleep in Entebbe
that day but worry not, there is accommodation available at the centre for all
the groups such as dormitories and the guest bandas that will be able to
accommodate you.
